Along with his many academic achievements, Dr. Ismailov Gulom has been involved in several extracurricular activities, from the research Institute team to serving as a volunteer on the Scientific workshops in Uzbekistan and abroad. His research field is Turkic languages of Central Asia primarily focusing on phraseology, culture, history and related questions. He is implementing projects to strengthen the global status of the mother language (Uzbek) in collaboration with foreign scholars, including linguists from Germany, Sweden, Russia and Kazakhstan. About 90 research papers belonging to the Culture and two monography (book) and four terminological dictionaries published by Dr. Ismailov Gulom. 
At the international level, Islaimov Gulom Mirzaevich, an Uzbek researcher, has got the “International Mother Language Award 2021” with Gold Medal by UNESCO, the award conferred on the International Mother Language Day on 21 February 2021 by the International Mother Language Institute, a UNESCO Category 2 Institute in Dhaka (Bangladesh). The award granted in recognition of an outstanding contribution related to the protection and promotion, practice and research of mother languages, especially Turkic languages. In 2022, He choosen as a Editor of the Serial Book Chapter "Islamic Culture and Pre-Islamic Beliefs in Central Asia", which is annually publish in Romania.
In 2007-2009 he studied at the post-graduate of the Institute of Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During his scientific career, Dr. G.M.Ismailov stood out among the youth of our institute for his thirst for knowledge, diligence, initiative and talent. During his postgraduate studies, he participated in the ITEC program in 2007 and managed to improve his English Speaking and Writing Skills at the Institute of Business and Information Technology in Delhi, India.
Dr. Ismailov Gulom conducted research in the framework of the fundamental project "Study of the development of lexicon and terminology of the Uzbek language in the period of independence" and in 2011 successfully defended his PhD dissertation on "Semantic formation of terms in the terminology of the Uzbek language". He is currently working on his research on "Linguoculturological study of Phraseology of Turkic languages".
He regularly participates in national and international scientific conferences of young scientists. In particular, about 60 scientific articles and theses on his Turkology scientific work have been published in national and foreign scientific journals, including more than 20 articles in prestigious scientific journals of China, South Korea, USA, Macedonia, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Dr. Ismailov Gulom hosted the “Baku World Forum of Young Scientists 2014” in Baku, Azerbaijan on May 26-31, 2014, and the “International Forum of Young Scientists” in Baku on November 4-8, 2015, and participated with paper at the The 3d International Forum “One Belt and One Road”, which held on the Beijing University of Language and Culture in China. And also at the International Conference "Turkology: language – literature – culture" organized at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia on November 17-20, 2016, at the "Congress of Turkology" held by the Turkish Language Committee in Turkey on November 12-16, 2017 and December 3-6, 2017 Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, participated in the international conference "Heritage of the Turkic and Turkic-Slavic peoples: the Great Silk Road" with his scientific lectures and was awarded certificates.
In 2014, organized selection competition in cooperation with the Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education he won first place in the competition "The most active young scientist of the year", organized to identify, motivate and improve the skills of talented personnel. In December, 2014 participated in the competition "Best Article of 2014 year" at the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and TWAS was awarded as the winner of the competition.
Dr. Ismailov Gulom received  DAAD award in 2015, 2019 and 2023. Since 10 January, 2023, Dr. Ismailov Gulom is working under the project with scholars from China, Minzu University in Beijing.
Dr. Ismailov Gulom participated in several projects which is dedicated to Uzbek culture, that linguoculture “Principles of development of Uzbek lexicon and terminology” (FA-F8-034) performed at the Alisher Navoi Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2008-2011 and “Study of the development of Uzbek lexicon and terminology in the period of independence in 2012-2016” (FA-F1-G041). Currently, he is participating 2 international projects "Terminological Dictionaries of Turkic countries’ languages" in International Turkic Academy (Astana, Kazakhstan).
